Desktop Engineer
Century City, CA; $80K - $90K
Major law. Analyze and develop and deploy a desktop that integrates with legal applications based on the firm’s business rules/needs using Active Directory, Group Policy and SMS/SCCM. Develop and implement state of the art information technology strategies and platforms that meet current and future needs, integration of current applications into the current desktop and Citrix/XenApp environment where needed.
Essential Functions:
· Participating in multiple simultaneous IT projects including functional development of legal desktop.
· Facilitate Application package deployments using SMS/SCCM and industry standard installation tools.
· Assist in identifying data issues that cross boundaries and facilitating common resolutions
· Interface directly with internal customers to assist in defining project requirements; evaluate feasibility and technical alternatives, set targets and generate deliverables
· Interface with IT operations and service departments to provide fully defined solutions
· Provide technical cross-training among department members to support new programs/systems
· Provide second level support on desktop, application and domain level issues
· Excellent interpersonal skills for interaction with co-workers, management, legal and administrative staff
· Ability to speak and write clearly and concisely
· Complete command of the English language and above average verbal communication skills for interaction with attorneys and legal support staff

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
· 5 or More Years:
o Legal Applications Integration
o Desktop Image Deployment (familiarity with Ghost, PXE, WDS a plus)
o Application Packaging and Deployment (Wise, MSI, SMS/SCCM, Citrix XenApp) (a must)
o MS Office Integration
o VB.NET, VB Scripting, Windows scripting programming
· Complete understanding of Windows 2003 Active Directory & Group Policy (a must)
· Knowledge and experience with relational database technology, data modeling concepts, development methodology tools and techniques (ACCESS 2000/XP/2003 and SQL 7.0/2000/2005)
· Expert level proficiency with Windows XP, Windows 2003, Office 2003, Office 2007, Remote Access solutions, mobile devices, and other legal industry software.
· A complete working knowledge of Microsoft Office 2007 Office Suite (a must).
· Familiarity with Microsoft Office 2010 Beta (a plus)
· Familiarity with SharePoint MOSS 2007
· Experienced testing background
Education and Certification:
- Minimum of an Associate’s Degree or equivalent or two year advanced vocational technical training, or four years relevant on the job work experience
- MCP (Microsoft Certified Professional)
Environment:
· General office environment. Daily work on PC. May require long hours, occasional weekend work and second level after-hours availability.
Exchange/Messaging Engineer
Century City; $90K - 115K DOE
Major law firm seeks a highly experienced Microsoft Exchange/Messaging Engineer for full-time employment. This position will be responsible for managing all aspects of the messaging and Exchange 2003/2007 environments in multiple sites.
Qualifications:Candidates should have broad and deep experience-based knowledge of Exchange gained through genuine involvement in the scoping, design and implementation of multiple solutions in a complex, multi-technology enterprise environment. Individuals should be able to explain the complexities and implications of migration issues, testing, support, service level monitoring, high availability and disaster recovery. Individuals should demonstrate a proven willingness to share knowledge and support colleagues. Experience of project management tools and methodologies is desirable and candidates should demonstrate an ability to be self-driven and organized.
Requirements:Expert knowledge in designing and administering mid-sized to large Exchange 2003/2007 environments.Implementation of High Availability technologies for Exchange.Practical knowledge of SMTP routing, Active Directory/LDAP, DNS and secured messaging transports.Experience in managing RIM BES and administering Blackberry mobile devices (third level support).Excellent analytical and organizational skills.Ability to respond to incidents and outages that may arise during normal business hours and after-hours.Develop documentation, requirements, specs, test strategies and implementation plans.Propose and present configuration changes and technology upgrade paths to senior IT management.Execute and test disaster recovery procedures when and if necessary.
Desired Experience:Experience working in the legal environment helpful, though not necessary.Experience managing Microsoft OCS or LCS 2005.Implementing and managing integrated Exchange Email Archiving Solutions such as Zantaz.Postini or other Anti-Spam solutions.Some practical knowledge of, or experience with Exchange 2010.Good understanding of Outlook 2003/2007.Exchange ActiveSync for Mobile Devices (iPhone, Windows Mobile).Some SharePoint experience helpful, though not necessary.
Network Technician
Century City; Major Law Firm; $45-55K DOE
Responsible for the daily maintenance of Cisco switches and routers; and troubleshooting of LAN Infrastructure/connectivity issues, Network security, Network printers, and WAN Communication Circuits. Perform, monitor and support Network-based backups on a daily/weekly and other scheduled basis. Utilize scripting tools, including but not limited to, WMI and ADSI in order to poll Active Directory and user’s workstations for information and to make network related changes. Install and maintain various network equipment and install needed updates and bug fixes, including patches, as required. Support and maintain virus definitions / Network security.
Associate’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology or related specialty and two or more years technology-related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Prior network administration experience in a large legal or professional services environment and previous experience scripting, applying patches, etc, as it pertains to network administration are required. Must be A+ Certified. Proficiency working with all Microsoft Windows 2000 applications. Must have Microsoft and Cisco training/experience with knowledge of Cisco router/switch infrastructure equipment, including working knowledge of fast Ethernet switching, firewall software, virus protection, proxy servers, etc. Must have a knowledge of IP networks, servers and connectivity issues; Active Directory, DNS, WINS, Radius, IAS. Proactive with the ability to identify, define and analyze complex LAN and WAN issues and problems and to recommend and implement solutions. Excellent analytical and technical skills requiring an aptitude for detail, precision and logic with comprehensive knowledge of LAN administration in order to conduct detailed analyses of servers, switches/routers, application packages, desktop images, infrastructure/connectivity, network security/printers, virus definition, and circuits. Ability to provide technical support and training, and maintain effective relationships with a diverse group of users having different levels of computer expertise including attorneys, support staff, and clients.
CCNA, MCSE, MCSA, MCDBA Certifications preferred. Additional skills in the following areas are a plus: MCSE, Symantec Netbackup, PIX Firewall, Citrix, Linux, Cisco Switch Configuration, and HP Printer.
